Oppose the "Public Charge" Rule
October 23, 2018
The Trump Administration has proposed a new rule that seeks to prevent immigrants and their families from accessing the public benefits and services that they're entitled to: healthcare, housing, nutrition and more.
Current law already restricts which public services immigrants can use. But the new rule could keep immigrants from getting a green card if anyone in their family receives a benefit like Medicaid. People will be forced to choose between their family’s wellbeing and keeping their families together in America.
The rule is not in the books yet, but if it goes into effect, it will hurt all families, not just immigrants. Learn more about the "public charge" rule here.
We can stop the hate. But we need your help.
Tell the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) why this rule is a bad idea. DHS must address your comments.
