I do not think we can retake anything without a coherent message that differentiates the Democrats from the Republicans. Further, there needs to be some articulated program that addresses the future created by George Bush and this administration. I haven't heard either from the Party's leaders.

I think the problem with Democrats is that we need better leadership and results-oriented people. I'm sick and tired of being approached by Democratic candidates who promise the world and don't deliver. It's time to put up or shut up. If you say you are going to fix a problem, then just do it; don't tell constituents that you're looking into it and then come back with a lame excuse why it wasn't done. People don't like the Republican party but at least if they say they are going to send troops to fight a war which should never have started, they keep their word by sending thousands of Hispanic and lower economic and poverty-stricken Black kids like myself, while they sit on their asses building coo-ops and condos noone in New York or throughout the country can afford!

In order for Democrats to win we first need to realize our vital priorities and then settle one the best candidate that also shares in those same vital priorities. We are against the war in Iraq. We are hammered with higher and higher price-gouging oil and gas costs. The cost of healthcare continues to go up and our National Labor Relations Board continues to govern for the benefit of big business.
These are some of the major concerns that any true Democrat would want to resolve. However, We cannot resolve these issues by playing tactical games with whom we support for office. In years past we have chosen to support candidates with whether they are able to win as one of the litmus tests. We now ourselves in the minority in virtually every facet of government, in a desperate position that gives us no other choice but to support candidates that are truly in line with our principles and needs.
New blood is needed in our movement--individuals with the willingness and strength to fight on principle and take the clinical pundits and think tank politics out of the equation. Some say that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again while getting the same results. Well, let’s stop the insanity and political sell out now! Lets win on principle and be proud of our values and goals and our candidates. There are men and women dying in Iraq right now as we fight against our involvement in this war. We should not be supporting candidates or incumbents that want this war to continue. We fight on principle and we will win on principle. We truly need to be true to ourselves and our principles more then ever now.

Yes, I think that the Democratic Party has a very good chance at regaining control. I hope that if that happens, we will be able to get back to the basics of helping working families. I will be working both the September and November elections to help my fellow Democrats in seeing that we come back strong.

The candidates will have to reach out to the poor with some hope for a better life in these United States. Young people are looking for some sign theat they will have a future.

I think that the Democrats can retake the Senate but I do not think that that will amount anything, in a practical sense to the average American worker. I mean, look what is going on with the Lieberman situation in Connecticut. It's sad to say that my party (Democrats) aren’t what they used to be. They are now corporate entities like the Republicans

Yes, I do believe that we can actually retake Congress this year with candidates who will stand up for familes. We have to get out and let our politicians know what our issues are, and hold them accountable. The Democrats need to get involved with the community and the issues of the people. They need to fight strong for the people. I would be involved by getting people registered to vote and getting people educated on the importance of voting. I would rally and support candidates who are fighting for families.
