In Maryland, An Evening to Celebrate Nurses, Caregivers of All Stripes
The evening of May 8, 1199SEIU’s RN Council of Maryland/DC held its annual Nurses Celebration. As with years past, there was much laughter, dancing, and camaraderie among the nurses. This year’s celebration also included a special Caregiver Award presented to Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker.

Caregivers Reach Settlement with Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore, MD
1199SEIU members at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) voted on May 8 to ratify a tentative agreement with management at the hospital. The contract is for the period of one year (expiring April 30, 2014) and includes a bonus and 1% wage increase upon ratification and a second 1% wage increase on December 1, 2013.
