WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Healthcare workers at St. Mary's Medical Center are holding a protest against police brutality and racial injustice.

The silent demonstration began at 12 p.m.

Caregivers are expected to step outside and bow in silence for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, the amount of time investigators said a police officer in Minneapolis kept his knee on the neck of George Floyd. Floyd eventually died. His death sparked protests nationwide and the arrests of four officers who have since been fired from the department.

Floyd was buried in Houston on Wednesday.
