Crouse Members Overwhelmingly Approve New Contract

On Wednesday, April 30, an overwhelming majority of the 1199 members at Crouse Hospital approved our new contract.

We are proud of this contract because we met our goals of wage increases equal to or greater than inflation, protecting our benefits and increasing the length of time that we gain seniority while on a leave of absence. Before negotiations began, our members were very concerned that we might face a struggle to protect our vacation, holiday, personal and sick time. But, we showed management that we were united in our goal of protecting our time. Our UNITY convinced management to stay away from our time off benefits.

During negotiations, it became clear that we needed to show further UNITY around protecting Combat Pay and the Training Fund. We were also challenged to protect our Pharmacy Benefit and make sure everyone received wage increases that met or exceeded inflation. Congratulations to all who wore Purple on Wednesdays, stickers, bracelets, and scrub caps, signed the petition, and created posters that we brought with us the bargaining table. Our UNITY protected our benefits.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
