Concerned BGE customers packed a downtown hearing room last night and urged state regulators to block the proposed merger between Baltimore's Constellation Energy and Chicago-based Exelon Corp.
Maryland's Public Service Commission (PSC) organized the public comment session, which included powerful testimony from dozens of citizens, including members of the grassroots group Good Jobs Better Baltimore.
The controversial merger has faced strong opposition since Maryland's Public Service Commission (PSC) began the hearing process in June. Many individuals and groups including Good Jobs Better Baltimore, the Maryland Office of the People's Council, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, Maryland League of Conservation Voters and Sierra Club have filed testimony as intervenors in opposition to the merger.
