It has been nearly 75 years since the Russian army liberated Inge Auerbacher and her family from a Nazi concentration camp in Czechoslovakia. She was just ten years old at the time and had endured three years in the unspeakable conditions at the Terezin (also known as Theresienstadt) Concentration Camp. Auerbacher and her parents were among only one percent of the people who survived long enough to be liberated. Most prisoners, including her best friend and bunkmate in the camp, Ruth, were sent to Auschwitz and never returned. Read More

Since its inception in 1965, Anne Shore Camp program has been sending eligible 1199ers’ children who are between the ages of nine and 15 on two-to-four week stays at summer camps throughout the Northeast. To participate in the program, there is a nominal administrative fee of $50 and members must also pay tax on camp tuition paid on their behalf. Read More
