Healthcare Workers Applaud Governor Cuomo's Vital Brooklyn Plan to Improve Health, Jobs, Housing, Education and Opportunity
March 9, 2017
"Our union has tens of thousands of members in Brooklyn, so we applaud this bold, holistic approach by Governor Cuomo to improve well-being and health in underserved neighborhoods. The Governor's substantial proposed investment in healthcare, job creation, affordable housing, youth development and education, climate resiliency, violence prevention, parks and access to healthy food will lift up our members, their children, their patients and their communities. In particular, we strongly support the creation of 36 ambulatory care centers, which would revitalize our struggling healthcare system, and ensure more local access to quality healthcare for Brooklyn residents. Because all New Yorkers are connected to each other, this plan will be a boon for the health, safety and economic progress of our entire city. "
