Florida

1199SEIU is Florida’s largest healthcare union and has been part of 1199SEIU since 2010. 1199SEIU currently represents workers at more than 100 facilities across the state. Members work in some of Florida’s largest for-profit healthcare chains and academic institutions, including HCA (Hospital Corporation of America), Tenet, Consulate, Greystone and University of Miami Hospital.

In addition. the almost 25,000 healthcare workers represented by 1199SEIU are able to advocate for good jobs and quality patient care. "Having a strong union voice gives us more power to advocate for patient care," said Betsy Marville, RN, Executive Vice President of SEIU Healthcare Florida’s Nurse Division.

Florida healthcare workers, since joining 1199SEIU, have built momentum and provided energy and resources to continue organizing more caregivers into the union as well as advocating for protections for all workers in healthcare and beyond.
