We Won! Rite Aid Cannot Insist Upon Removing Future Pharmacists from Our Union.

December 8, 2016

Great News for Rite Aid Workers! Rite Aid’s attempts to undercut the strength of our union have not succeeded. A judge with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has ruled that Rite Aid engaged in unfair labor practices when they tried to remove future pharmacists from the bargaining unit.

The judge has ordered Rite Aid to cease and desist from insisting that 1199SEIU remove the newly hired interns and pharmacists working in New York stores from the bargaining unit, and interfering with, restraining, or coercing employees from engaging in legally-protected union activities. The judge has also ordered Rite Aid to bargain in good faith with 1199.

Our fight is not over! Rite Aid is planning to appeal this ruling. We need to hold them accountable for following the law, and keep standing together for our healthcare and our union. Let’s demand that Rite Aid settle a fair contract! Visit DoTheRiteThing.org to get involved TODAY!
