Boston, MA (July 12, 2017) – In response to the strike by nurses at Tufts Medical Center, Tyrék D. Lee, Sr., Executive Vice President of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, issued the following statement:

“As fellow members of the healthcare delivery team, we proudly stand in solidarity with the nurses at Tufts Medical Center. Based on our own experience, we are all too familiar with this employer’s anti-worker tactics that prioritize the bottom line while jeopardizing the care our patients need and deserve. Improving our patients’ care begins with respecting the dedicated people who provide it. We join Tufts nurses in raising our voices to promote good jobs and protect quality care.”
