Healthcare workers at Bethany Gardens in Rome, NY unanimously ratified a new labor agreement on November 8. The new three-year contract will increase wages for current employees 3.5 percent this year, offer a one percent anniversary bonus next year, and increase wages another two percent in the last year of the contract. The current wage scale will be eliminated going forward as the employer moves to a hire scale in which employees receive a 3.5 percent wage increase after completing probation.

Bethany Gardens will maintain 90 percent employer-paid Health Insurance for all plans for current employees, 85 percent employer-paid health insurance for new hire individual plans, and 80 percent employer-paid health insurance for all other plans. Employees will also retain the option to receive a “No Frills” rate of $1.50 per hour above the start rate when they exempt themselves from health insurance benefits.
