Certificate For Emergency Nursing Certification Exam Review

Time: 8:15AM - 4:30PM

Purpose: This comprehensive review course is focused on the areas of concentration of the CEN Exam by the Emergency Nurses Association and follows a nursing process approach of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. It is designed to assist the experienced emergency room nurse to prepare and increase the chance of passing the CEN exam.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Experienced ER Registered Nurses currently working in the emergency room and wish to sit for the CEN Certification Exam. This is a 3 Day course.

Program Objectives: At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

» Identify the components of the Board Certification of Emergency Nursing Examination process.
» Discuss the disease process and plan of care using a nursing process approach for each of the selected common pathological emergencies:
» Respiratory Emergencies
» Cardiovascular Emergencies
» Trauma Emergencies
» Orthopedic Emergencies
» Genitourinary Emergencies
» Obstetric Emergencies
» Medical Emergencies
» Environmental Emergencies
» Toxicological Emergencies
» Neurological Emergencies
» Maxillofacial Emergencies

COST: This 3-day educational benefit is available at no cost for all 1199 nurses whose employer contributes to the 1199 RN Training and Upgrading Fund through the Pension Diversion Fund.

Experienced ER Registered nurses currently working in the Emergency Room and wish to sit for the CE certification should apply for this course. Since this is a free course and there is a great demand for it, it is important that you adhere to the Registration and Attendance guidelines below. Based on space availability, this course is open to 1199 members at a cost of $375.00 and 475.00 for non-members. All refunds for this seminar are subject to a $50 administrative fee. Four to six weeks is required to process a refund. NO REFUNDS will be given after the ten-day period prior to the actual date of the seminar or for a “No Show” on the day of the seminar.

REGISTRATIONS FOR ELIGIBLE MEMBERS: This is a 3-day educational benefit at no cost for all 1199 Registered Nurses whose employers contribute to the 1199 RN Training, Upgrading and Job Security Fund and who have been working as an RN for at least one year. You must attend all 3 days of the seminar if you’re to receive a certificate of Attendance and your contact hours. If you miss any part of the three day’s you cannot attend another day until the course is offered again.

If you do not qualify to take any of the programs for free, please pay according to the Non RNTJSF member pay scale or the Non 1199 member pay scale you fall into. Please note, there are a few programs that will require a fee whether you are eligible or not. Please make sure that your institution is still in good standing with the Fund to insure you receive proper benefits. Course Information: Please note, all classes are virtual via the (GoTo Training Platform) unless otherwise noted. Each participant will be solely responsible for having a device they can use to join virtually, as well as their own internet connection. The link to access the class will be provided upon confirmation of registration. The host of the class will accept participants at the start of the published time. Access to the class is closed 1 hour from the published time.

REGISTRATION FOR NON-ELGIBLE REGISTRANTS: Based on virtual space availability, this course is open to 1199 members from non-participating institutions at a cost of $330. Non-1199 registrants may also take this class at a cost of $360.
