Healthcare voters are sending a clear message at midterm voting box: we have not forgotten Rep. Stefanik’s vote to rip away healthcare and Medicaid from millions of Americans

What: Rally and Launch for "I AM A HEALTHCARE VOTER"
Date: Friday, May 4 (Star Wars Day)
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: Trinity Park - 1 Trinity Pl, Plattsburgh, NY

One year ago this week, Republican leaders in Congress passed their disastrous American Health Care Act (AHCA, aka Trumpcare). If that bill had passed the Senate, it would have gutted Medicaid, ripped healthcare from an estimated 24 million Americans, increased healthcare costs by as much as 20 percent, and put millions of individuals out of work. On Friday, May 4, 1199 healthcare workers and activists are holding a rally in Trinity Park to let Rep. Stefanik know that her vote that put the health of families and communities at risk has not been forgotten. The issue of quality, affordable healthcare has grown more important to voters in the 12 months since the failure of Trumpcare.

Healthcare voters across the country are signing cards committing to educate other voters on what would have been the real cost if Republicans in Congress had won full repeal of the Affordable Care Act, and how their ongoing efforts to sabotage healthcare and Medicaid are still a very real threat. This week in New York State, 1199’s “I AM A HEALTHCARE VOTER” campaign has launched radio, newspaper and digital ads, with the purpose of educating the public about the healthcare voting records of Congresswoman Stefanik, and also Congressional Representatives Faso and Tenney.
