Nurses, Families and Elected Officials Tell Sapphire Goshen to Stop the Layoffs!

January 10, 2018

On Monday, January 8th, nurses and other caregivers braved the cold and held and informational picket in front of Sapphire at Goshen Nursing & Rehab to protest the facility’s decision to lay off 10 of its Registered Nurses and the impact this action could have on quality care for residents. The nurses were joined by supporters, including the family members of residents and elected officials, all motivated by concerns about this new owner’s focus on cuts. They are demanding that Sapphire work on finding solutions to economic concerns that don’t involve laying off the dedicated care providers who their elderly and vulnerable residents depend on for every day care.
