NORTH ADAMS, MA – North Adams Regional Hospital (NARH) workers have released information regarding two upcoming community events pertaining to the ongoing public health and economic crisis created by the abrupt and reckless closure of the hospital.

With the current crisis impacting the entire community – workers and patients alike – caregivers are asking the regional media to please help make the information about both events available to the public.

Caregivers and community members have vowed the campaign to restore services at the hospital will continue until a positive resolution that protects the health of area residents is achieved. They are calling on policymakers, particular Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, to engage the community and intervene with a real action plan to address the crisis impacting families across the region.

“On Sunday, March 30th, at 3:00 p.m., faith leaders and healthcare workers will convene an interfaith service as we continue our vigil in the form of prayer to restore NARH. Caregivers and community members will gather together across faiths for a day of reflection and to renew our commitment to each other, to our community, and to our hospital as we pray and advocate for the health of our neighbors and a positive resolution to the current NARH crisis.”

The interfaith gathering on will take place @ the First Congregational Church, 134 Main Street, North Adams, on Sunday, 3/30/14, at 3:00 p.m. and is open to the community.

On Tuesday, April 1st at 5:00 p.m., a community meeting will be held at the North Adams American Legion, 91 American Legion Drive, North Adams, MA. At the Tuesday meeting, caregivers and community members will discuss next steps in the ongoing campaign to restore services at North Adams Regional Hospital.
