North Country 1199ers Hold 2014 Family Picnic

August 22, 2014

Members braved the wind, rain, and cold at this year’s 1199SEIU Family Picnic at Point Au Roche that felt less like the middle of August, and more like a mid-fall day.

The chilly temps did not stop members, families and invited guests (including 21st Congressional Candidate Aaron Woolf and State Assemblywoman Janet Duprey) from enjoying good food, good conversation, and good people. As always, the kids had a ball at the Candyland themed picnic with games, candy, face painting, and plenty of dancing to the DJ’s music.

One little girl even took over the DJ’s microphone for a time. Although it was a less than perfect day weather-wise, a good time was had by all . The picnic provided nice end of the summer celebration for the members at CVPH—Champlain Valley’s main healthcare insitution--who, through their hard work and solidarity, just ratified a good contract a little over a month ago.
