Upstate / WNY

The Upstate/WNY Division of 1199SEIU is the voice of health care employees in western, central, and northern New York State. The region includes more than 23,000 healthcare workers at 29 hospitals, 70 long term care facilities and clinics, a home care agency, a physicians practice, and a business clerical group. Members of 1199SEIU's Upstate/WNY division work in 26 counties throughout Upstate New York from the Adirondacks to Niagara Falls, and include registered nurses, hospital workers, professionals, nursing home workers, and home care.

1199SEIU members in the region are leaders in raising standards for all healthcare workers. We have fought for and won contracts with good wages and yearly raises, employer paid health and pension benefits, a greater voice for workers, advancement for technical and professional employees, training and upgrading opportunities for all employees, job security and more. We make our voices heard at our workplaces, in our community and at seats of local, state and federal government.
