On June 25, the Central New York Political Endorsement Recommendation Committee, made up of 1199SEIU staff and members from Crouse Hospital and Loretto Nursing Home, convened to interview 2012 political candidates running in races at the federal, state and county level.  After a long day of interviews, the committee voted to recommend that the union endorse five of the nine interviewed candidates.

Those recommended for endorsement are as follows:

Dan Maffei  - United States Congress District 24

Bill Magnarelli – New York State Assembly District 129

Al Stirpe – New York State Assembly District 127

Sam Roberts – New York State Assembly District 128

Gordon Cuffy – Onondaga County Court Judge

One candidate, Dave Valesky, an incumbent candidate for New York State Senate District 49, was unable to attend his interview and will be rescheduled at a later date.
