We're Standing Strong to Keep LICH Open!

March 21, 2013

On Tuesday, the SUNY Board of Trustees voted a second time, unanimously, to close Long Island College Hospital, which employs more than 2,200 dedicated caregivers, nurses, and doctors and provides vital care for 100,000 Brooklyn patients a year.

Closing LICH would be a disaster for the communities we serve, a blow to the local economy, and would put the healthcare of patients from Brooklyn Heights to Red Hook at risk.

Call New York State Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Nirav Shah at 518.474.2011, or email him at nrs02@health.state.ny.us and tell him to keep quality care and quality jobs in Brooklyn by saving LICH.

Together, we’re building a coalition of fellow healthcare providers, patients, elected leaders, and community allies to keep LICH open for care. Stay tuned for upcoming actions and visit www.savelich.org for more information.
