Close to 50 members from 1199SEIU Florida traveled to Sanford to unite with thousands on Thursday, March 22 at a rally calling for justice for Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black teen who was gunned down in Sanford earlier this month by a neighbor who has not been arrested.

“I am here for my friend who was killed when his car was struck by a Sanford police officer and walks free today. I am here for a friend who has sued the Sanford Police Department twice for mistreatment,” said Yvette Key, a CNA at the Rehabilitation Center of Winter Park & Maitland. “I am also also here for my son, who is going to be 17 in July and he could have been Trayvon Martin.”
