HCA Union Contract & Bargaining Updates

January 1, 1970

Our union bargaining team made huge strides and even made history during this week’s contract negotiations sessions on the west coast. We also negotiated to extend our contract at our six facilities with union contracts to Sept. 30.

The team reached the following tentative agreements with our employer:

HolidaysDrug and Alcohol PolicyManagement RightsNo Strike/No LockoutUnion Leave – The tentative agreement includes a secure a bank of 270 days per contract year of union leave. This TRIPLES the amount of union leave available and gives us the option to use more leave during important union campaigns.Notification/Consultation and Negotiation - We secured the right to mediate any changes to job descriptions or hospital policies. If we are not able to reach agreement through mediation, then we have the option to hold an information picket. Yes! We made history and secured the right to have an informational picket during our contract!Union Security and we are standing firm for what we believe and know we deserve. It's a struggle, but as union members, we pull together and do what needs to be done for the better of our patients, our communities, and our futures.” -Anesha Collins, Central Florida Regional Medical and we are standing firm for what we believe and know we deserve.
