Capital/Hudson Valley

We are 1199SEIU healthcare workers who live and work in 17 counties from the northern suburbs of New York City on both sides of the Hudson River—Westchester and Rockland counties—as well as the rural and semi-rural Putnam, Dutchess, Columbia, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Greene Counties up the Hudson to the capital city of Albany, and as far north as the southern Adirondacks and as far west as Gloversville in the eastern Mohawk Valley. We are members of 1199’s Hudson Valley/Capital Region Division, Nursing Home Division, Montefiore Health System, RN Division, and Pharmacy/CBO Division. We attend our Delegate Assemblies accordingly.

We are approximately 17,000 members who work at hospitals and nursing homes and clinics, pharmacies and community-based organizations.

Leaders in raising standards for all healthcare workers, we have fought for and won contracts with good wages and yearly raises, employer paid health and pension benefits, a greater voice for workers, advancement for technical and professional employees, training and upgrading opportunities for all employees, job security and more. Like our sisters and brothers throughout the union, we make our voices heard at our workplaces, in our community and at seats of local, state and federal government.
