1199ers Mobilize to Elect Two Healthcare Champions in Massachusetts -

January 1, 1970

The future of healthcare and homecare jobs in our state is directly tied to the decisions made by elected officials. 2014 is an important election year in Massachusetts. The next Governor and Attorney General of Massachusetts will be making many decisions that impact healthcare jobs and our ability to continue delivering quality care.

That's why 1199SEIU members have proudly endorsed Martha Coakley for Governor and Warren Tolman for Attorney General (pictured above with 1199SEIU members). Martha and Warren have fought alongside us for years to protect the rights of workers and patients. Now, we have to be there for them! As the primary on Tuesday, September 9th approaches, there are many opportunities to volunteer.

Preserving funding for healthcare and homecare jobs, winning better contracts, and our ability to advocate for quality care all directly depend on electing leaders who share our values and who respect workers.

As Attorney General, Martha helped hundreds of workers recover millions of dollars from employers who violated the law. Time and time again, Warren has stood with 1199SEIU members in our organizing and contract campaigns at hospitals, nursing homes, and on behalf of Personal Care Attendants. Join us to elect Martha and Warren by signing up to volunteer online!
