NEW JERSEY — 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East is putting resources and “boots on the ground” behind its NJ Congressional endorsements of Rebecca Bennett (NJ-07), Zack Mullock (NJ-02), and Rachel Peace (NJ-04), citing the candidates' commitment to protecting healthcare, supporting working families, and providing a clear contrast to the Republican incumbents currently representing those districts.

New Jersey voters face critical decisions about the future of healthcare and economic security. The incumbents in all three districts voted for the largest Medicaid cuts in history, threatening access to care for millions of Americans, including seniors, children, and people with disabilities.

Andy Cassagnol, Executive Vice President of 1199SEIU:

“The caregivers of 1199SEIU are excited to get-out-the-vote in these critical midterms for candidates who are committed to fighting for a more affordable and healthy New Jersey. We need leaders who will stand up against Washington DC’s deplorable attacks on hardworking families and put workers before billionaires. We’re ready to flip CD2, CD4, and CD7 by mobilizing our communities to vote as if our democracy depends on it.”

Rebecca Bennett, candidate for Congress in New Jersey's 7th Congressional District: “Members of 1199SEIU are the backbone of our state’s economy and key to keeping us safe and healthy. That’s why it’s an honor to earn their support in this race. I’m running to address our cost-of-living crisis, root out corruption from Washington and put country over party. Together, we’ll work to expand opportunities for all of our kids and make sure that every family can afford to stay here and thrive in New Jersey."

Rachel Peace, candidate for Congress in New Jersey's 4th Congressional District: “The cost of American healthcare was already astronomical and the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ stripped the few financial and workforce safeguards in place for patients, healthcare employees, and social services professionals. 1199SEIU will be a strong ally in working to reinstate and codify affordable insurance and safe staffing, and in reimagining America’s system.”

Zack Mullock, candidate for Congress in New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District: “I’m honored to have the support of the healthcare workers of 1199SEIU who fight every day for quality care and good jobs. I’m proud to support the PRO Act because workers deserve a stronger voice on the job, fair wages, and the right to organize. Together, we can build an economy where quality care and good jobs are available to everyone.”
