In the wake of the devastating storms that have struck Jamaica, Haiti, and Cuba, the caregivers of 1199SEIU extend their deepest solidarity to the families and communities affected across the Caribbean.

“Our hearts are heavy as we witness the destruction and suffering that these storms have brought to so many,” said Yvonne Armstrong, President of 1199SEIU. “This devastation hits close to home for our union family—many of our members have deep personal ties to these islands. We stand with them, and we are mobilizing to help.”

1199SEIU is joining in coalition with community and faith-based partners, international organizations, and healthcare allies to provide critical relief to those in need. This includes medical mission teams, the collection and delivery of essential supplies, and coordinated donation drives to support rebuilding efforts.

“As healthcare workers, compassion and service are at the heart of who we are,” President Armstrong continued. “We will be there, not just in words, but in action, to help heal and rebuild our Caribbean communities.”

Additional details will be shared in the coming days on how members and supporters can participate in this vital humanitarian effort.
