1199SEIU Workers Postpone Strike at Saugus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
The one-day strike was scheduled to start at 7am on Wednesday, March 30th

Saugus, Mass (March 28, 2022) – The following is a statement from Tim Foley, Executive Vice President of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, regarding the strike postponement at Saugus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center:

“As caregivers prepared to strike for fair wages, management at Saugus have agreed to resume bargaining for a fair settlement. Their agreement to come back to the table gives us hope that we can come to a fair resolution. 1199SEIU is committed to finalizing a fair wage re-opener that allows workers to care for their own families and protects quality resident care, that is why we have rescinded the strike notice for March 30th. If we are unable to reach an agreement following bargaining, we will share any next steps including the possibility of resending the strike notice.”
