Free Public Yoga Event In Honor Of Mental Health Month

WHAT: Yoga At The Union Hall 

 

WHEN: Monday, May 18 from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

WHERE:  259 Monroe Ave, Suite 220, Rochester, NY 14617 

 

WHY: May is Mental health awareness month, which is signified by a green ribbon.  Some 1 in 5 adults will meet criteria to be diagnosed with a mental health condition in their lifetime. Many adults go without seeking treatment or care because of the stigma associated with the disease.   

 

Promoting mental health and wellness is key to a well-balanced lifestyle. Together, we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness^[1] by providing the community unique ways to improve wellness.^[2]

 

This is a free Yoga event and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes. Healthy snacks, water and refreshments will be provided.  Those attending are asked to register for the event as space is limited to 50 participants. Please call 585-244-0830 and press 1.

Anderson “Poetically Undefined” Allen is an award-winning actor, poet, and certified yoga instructor whose interdisciplinary practice blends movement, storytelling, and healing. 

 

A graduate of Yoga 4 A Good Hood’s Teacher Training Program, Anderson’s approach centers gentle power and deep inquiry, using breath, flow, and stillness as tools for personal and collective transformation.
