"The members of 1199SEIU Florida are disappointed in the election results for our state's U.S. Senator and Governor, but we're determined to keep fighting for leaders who will serve working families. We're very proud of our SEIU family member Angie Nixon who overcame incredible odds and the massive resources of billionaires, big business and entrenched political powers to lift up the voices and values of working Floridians. While she fell just short this time, she inspired so many voters to join this movement for the long term, which also helped down ballot candidates in key races across the state.

We will continue organizing and mobilizing to call our government back to representing the interests of real working people, not the billionaires. This particular election night may be over, but not our fight. Today in Florida we still face skyrocketing living costs and so many other challenges. We won't give up and are committed to deliver a better Florida tomorrow."
