The Upstate Division of 1199SEIU is the voice of health care employees in western, central, and northern New York State. The region includes more than 21,000 health care workers at 31 hospitals, 66 nursing homes including Federally Qualified Health Centers and Home Care Agencies. Members of 1199SEIU's Upstate division work in 26 counties throughout Upstate New York from the Adirondacks to Niagara Falls, and include registered nurses, hospital workers, professionals, nursing home workers, and home care.

Everyday, 1199SEIU members are continuing to build on our historic growth in New York by uniting and organizing healthcare and home care workers across the state.
Some three hundred and fifty caregivers at three upstate New York nursing homes joined 1199SEIU in May. The driving force behind their decision to become 1199SEIU members was raising standards for all healthcare workers and their communities.
Contract covering 3,500 1199SEIU Union Members expires at midnight.
