It’s time for the 2020 Census. The U.S. Constitution requires a count every ten years of every person living in the U.S.
When we are ALL counted, we help make sure that $675 BILLION in federal money is distributed fairly. At stake are resources for our schools, roads, public transportation, emergency readiness needs and healthcare systems, including funding for hospitals, nursing homes, homecare agencies and clinics. Our responses to the 2020 Census help shape public policy, ensure our representation in government, and build more empowered, inclusive communities.
1199 is doing everything in our power to make sure the Census is conducted fairly and safely.
We have launched a vigorous campaign, including meetings in communities in all our regions, to ensure broad participation among members.
1199 is also working with a host of outreach partners to promote the full representation of our vulnerable and undercounted communities.
