1199SEIU IS LARGEST UNION AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER

BOSTON, MA – Veronica Turner, leader of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East in Massachusetts, issued the following statement regarding the potential merger of Boston Medical Center and Tufts Medical Center.

“Extreme disparities in reimbursement rates are putting incredible pressure on the healthcare safety net and the hospitals that care for the most vulnerable patients in our state. 1199SEIU healthcare workers will be assessing and monitoring this issue very closely, and as always, we will be advocating for the interests of both patients and caregivers during the process.” – Veronica Turner, Executive Vice President, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East
