Universal pre-K is one of the most important policies in our city's history for addressing the crisis of economic inequality. This is not the time for misinformation or distraction. The whole nation is looking to New York as a leader in progressive policies for working people, and we all need to pull together and focus on supporting our shared goal of making sure this program succeeds. Mayor de Blasio's administration is doing everything in their power to ensure 50,000 newly enrolled children have access to safe, high quality pre-K classes. The healthcare workers of 1199SEIU helped encourage enrollment because we know how vital universal pre-K is to the future of our children, our communities and our city, and we will continue to do whatever we can to promote this crucial program." -George Gresham, President of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the largest union in New York and the largest healthcare union in the nation.
