Nursing Homes

As the country’s population ages in increasingly larger numbers, and as the cost of hospital care soars, the role of nursing home and rehabilitative care has become more important than ever. Families entrust their elderly members to the devoted attention of our 1199SEIU nursing home caregivers, whom clients often say become extended family members. Similarly, those who need sustained but abbreviated physical, occupational and other therapy to continue to live healthy, fruitful lives are treated by dedicated 1199 nursing home therapists and licensed practical nurses (LPNs). 1199SEIU, the strongest, fastest-growing and most effective healthcare union in the country now represents more than 48,000 nursing home workers throughout Florida, Washington, DC, Maryland, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New York.
