On March 2, 28 workers at University Practice Medical Associates at St. Luke’s Roosevelt said yes to 1199SEIU representation. Then, on March 11, 57 workers at Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights also voted unanimously to join. These wins are the result of 1199’s major contract victory in 2014, during which employers who are part of the League of Voluntary Hospitals agreed to allow workers in the League’s community based and outpatient settings a path to join 1199.
