Albany, NY – On the heels of the launch of the Mario Cuomo Campaign for Economic Justice, labor leaders, community advocates, businesses, economists and low-wage workers joined together in support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s historic push to make New York the first state in the nation to enact a $15 per hour minimum wage for all workers.
Packing a State Senate Labor Committee hearing on the minimum wage, supporters of the #NYFightFor15 delivered powerful testimony on the economic and social benefits of raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour. Providing some of the most compelling testimony at the hearing, low-wage workers were also on hand to share their personal stories about what it means to live on less than $15.
